Dear students,

we would like to invite you to the 10th "Student Symposium on Molecular Medicine" in Ulm.

Topic: Perspectives in Neuroscience
Date: 6 May, 2017
Place: Ulm University

Neurosciences aim to study the physiology and pathology of the nervous system on molecular, cellular, structural and functional level. We hope our symposium will shed some light on the most interesting aspects in this complex field of research. Our external and internal speakers will cover different fields, including the connectivity and synaptic plasticity in the central nervous system and pathologies like neuronal degeneration or brain tumors.

For more information and free registration, please visit our homepage:

During the day you will have plenty of time to engage our speakers and students in conversation. We are taking care of refreshments and food and as always we will provide you with coffee and a selection of our legendary homemade cakes. For the participants arriving on Friday and/or leaving on Sunday, there will also be social events in the evenings.

Please register until 24 April, 2017! Register in time to get a certificate of attendance as well as free food and beverages.

Call for Posters:
As always, we want to give students the opportunity to present their current research projects in a poster session. Topics are not limited to "Neurosciences", so feel free to prepare posters from your own research area, for example from your Bachelor's or Master's theses. Within the unconstrained atmosphere of our symposium you can get hands-on experience in preparing and presenting a poster. This valuable possibility will prove to be great practice for the next time you have to present your work. You can sign up for a poster during the normal online registration process.

In addition to the symposium we will also host the Bundesfachschaftentagung (BuFaTa) on Sunday, 7 May, 2017. Students of various biomedical subject areas will come together, exchange informations and discuss concerns and needs that apply to all of us. The BuFaTa is independent from the symposium, so if you have no time for the symposium, you are welcome to join us on Sunday! You can sign up for the BuFaTa during the normal online registration process.

We are looking forward to an interesting weekend!
